Welcome to BSA Troop 80

OUR MISSION
To provide the Scouting program in a safe, enriching environment; to promote fun, adventure, and learning; and to encourage personal development of character and integrity in our Scouts.

TROOP PROFILE
Boy Scout Troop 80 is an exciting and action oriented troop that fosters the patrol method originally developed by Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scouts. Through the patrol method, the boys run their own program, plan and execute their meetings and outings, and learn by their successes and failures. The troop draws most of its members from the west side of St. Charles, including Campton Hills, Wasco, Elburn, South Elgin and Lily Lake. Our sponsor is Bell-Graham PTO. The goal of Troop 80 is to make the learning of scout skills fun and use these as stepping stones in the development of responsibility, character, citzenship and leadership skills as well as physical fitness.

We meet Monday nights at 7:00 PM in the Bell-Graham Elementary School cafeteria during the school year and at the Fox Mill Community Center in the Fox Mill subdivision or at a local forest preserve in the summer.

Anyone interested in Scouting is welcome. Click on the online calendar to see our upcoming events, activities and meetings.

Posted on May 6 2012 - 12:42pm

From Gary Smith, June Campout Coordinator

Troop 80 -

Our mini-high adventure campout is here! As part of our June 8-10, 2012 campout to beautiful Devils Lake State Park near Baraboo, WI, we have the exciting opportunity to participate in rock climbing….real rock climbing with certified guides. We’ll only take 12 scouts on this mini-high adventure – first come, first serve. And, similar to a full-fledged high adventure, this campout will have experiences you cannot get anywhere else. Plus, if the scout successfully participates in the climbing and training, they’ll have the opportunity to earn the Climbing merit badge.

Scout-O-Rama―"Daily Good Turn"

Posted on Apr 29 2012 - 7:31am

(This is not an official Troop 80 event and we will not be organizing car pools nor providing 2-deep leadership. This is an elective event that can be attended by a scout and his parent/family/friends. Parents / scouts can elect to attend and pay on their own. Personally, I've attended this event in the past and it's a fun day, especially for younger scouts.)
